Welcome!

I am so glad you stopped by. Since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I've been converting my Italian family's recipes to gluten free. My family and friends can't tell the difference! I also create my own delicious recipes. I will be posting new recipes weekly which will range from traditional comfort foods to gourmet dishes. Not all of the recipes will be Italian, but they all will be delicious! In addition, you will find helpful tips for gluten free living, related links and product recommendations. Tips For "Celiacs":

It is important for individuals with Celiac Disease to eat foods that are rich in calcium and magnesium, such as potatoes, avocados and beans. Yogurt is also a great source for calacium, but make sure that it is gluten free!
Gluten is far less obvious than one would suspect. It is not as easy as avoiding bread when you are trying to dodge gluten. There are many foods that contain gluten, such as yogurt with fruit, ketchup, cheese spreads, canned soups, lunchmeats and the list goes on and on. Further complicating matters is the fact that some ingredients may or may not contain gluten. A good example is "Modified Food Starch". This may be wheat based and therefore contain gluten. However, it may be Corn Starch and be gluten free. Your best defense is a good offense. Call the 1-800 number for the products which you prefer and find out directly from the source if they are gluten free. Often this information is also contained on the company's web-site. Be your own advocate!
Due to difficulty absorbing fats, Celiacs may be deficient in fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamins A,D,E, and K. Once diagnosed, work closely with your doctor to ensure that you are within normal ranges for these vitamins!

For those of you who live where you are fortunate to have a Wegman's Food Market, Wegman's has an amazing selection of gluten free foods. Additionally, they are very approachable for requests to carry items that they do not have.
Authentic Foods Pie Crust Mix (Great item. Tastes really great. I find it you need to add some water to get it to come together properly, but great when it is done!)
Chebe Focaccia Flatbread Mix
Mrs. Leeper's Rice Vegetable Twists (Great for Pasta Salad)
Tinkyada Pastas
